Emile Heskey urges Liverpool to sign No.11 Premier League winger

Liverpool have been urged by former centre-forward Emile Heskey to complete a deal for Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli. The former Reds centre-forward opined that Brazil international is the type of footballer that the German manager should be looking at due to his work rate, confidence and ability on the ball.

Heskey says Martinelli is a ‘fantastic player’ and urged the Reds to try to get a deal done for the attacker. However, Heskey admitted that it could be difficult to reach an agreement with Arsenal over the sale of Gabriel as the Gunners are unlikely to sell the footballer any time soon.

The 21-year-old forward has gained prominence in Mikel Arteta’s setup this campaign and has done well to repay the faith shown by the former Man City assistant manager. The Brazilian forward has found the net four times from nine PL games this campaign.

Only three years back, Jurgen Klopp hailed the South American forward as the ‘talent of the century’. Therefore it is no big secret that the German manager is a big admirer of the Brazilian. Martinelli valued at £61m and he is in the final two years of his deal with the Gunners.

The London giants are looking to tie him down to another long-term contract but an agreement is yet to be reached and therefore, there has been growing uncertainty over his future. The Merseyside giants are in immediate need of transfer recruitment as their campaign looks to be headed nowhere this term.
