'Legs have gone': £40m Liverpool player told he basically walks during games after 4/10 shocker

What on earth has happened to Liverpool midfielder Fabinho?

The Brazilian powerhouse has been a monstrous figure for Jurgen Klopp ever since his £40 million transfer to Anfield from Monaco during the summer of 2018 [The Guardian].

But this season the big man is struggling in a major way.

He has already been dropped by the Liverpool manager on a number of occasions and performances like today illustrate why.

Fabinho was powerless in midfield as Nottingham Forest secured a shock 1-0 victory over Klopp’s side.

According to The Echo, the former Monaco player earned only a 4/10 for his dismal display.

And Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking to talkSPORT, believes the 28-year-old’s legs have gone.

He told talkSPORT [22/10, 5.30 pm]: “Fabinho’s legs have gone. You know. His idea of a sprint is like a walk at the moment.”

Still only 28, it’s hard to believe that mobility – or a lack of – is at the root of Fabinho’s problem at Liverpool right now.

But Agbonlahor is accurate in suggesting that the player certainly does seem a lot slower across the turf than he used to be and you have to say, it’s causing the Reds all sorts of problems.

For whatever reason, Fabinho is one of several Liverpool players whose body language is extremely questionable this season and until he gets his groove back, well it’s difficult to see the team getting theirs back.
