Report: 23-year-old will take uncle's advice to join Liverpool, it'll blow Nunez out of water
Well, Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool is seemingly back on the agenda.
The Paris Saint-Germain marksman has long been linked with a transfer to Anfield.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 23-year-old isn’t happy with the Ligue 1 outfit any longer and wants to leave them in January.
Liverpool have been touted as a potential destination.
The Spanish publication has reported this morning that Mbappe’s uncle, Pierre, has earmarked the Reds as the best sporting project to be involved in right now.
The report has added that the France international will listen to his uncle’s advice about joining Liverpool, should the Merseysiders revive their interest in the former Monaco starlet.
There’s definitely momentum building and it’ll be fascinating to see what happens over the coming months.
One thing that isn’t uncertain is the fact that it’ll cost Liverpool an absolute bomb.
Fenway Sports Group already bankrolled a club-record £85 million signing of Darwin Nunez during the summer transfer window, but Mbappe, between transfer fee and wages, is likely to be astronomically more expensive than the Uruguay international.
A deal to sign Mbappe would blow the Nunez package out of the water in a gargangutan way and it remains to be seen if FSG are willing to sanction such an enormous investment at Liverpool.
